Glass has a flexible, easy to use restricted list manager. There are three types of restriction classifications:
- Allowed - the user will submit a trade for pre-clearance, but the transaction will be automatically approved
- Approval Required - a task is generated for the admin(s) to review and approve/deny the trading request
- Blocked - The user is unable to enter a request for the security
To set the default restriction on a security:
- Navigate to settings on the left navigation panel of the admin portal
- Click securities
- Click security defaults
- There are three configuration settings that can be managed:
- The default restriction type: - all securities that have not been predefined in the security list will fall under the setting selected here
- Approval expiration: this specifies how long the approval is good for. The business day convention set expires at the US market close (4pm EST)
- Min holding period: optionally, an admin can enforce a minimum holding period to prevent day trading and short holding periods to limit activity. If required, check the box and type in the number of days.
